Excerpt from JOSHUA TALKS TO GOD
Everything around him looked swirly, somehow. The stairs were extraordinarily bendy and the carpet and walls seemed fuzzy. Joshuas legs felt prickly like pins and needles and wobbly, like jelly. He couldnt feel the banister beneath his hand. As he made his way towards his bedroom door, it was like he was walking on air. A strange whirring noise got louder and louder as he walked.
How did that get there? blurted out Joshua. He liked the look of the new purple door but he was a bit worried about what his parents would say because they had gone crazy the last time he drew a picture of a space rocket on his bedroom wall.
Joshua carefully reached out to touch the strange purple door. It was as hard as it always felt, yet it was also dusty and chalky on the surface. Thank goodness it is only a chalk drawing, thought Joshua.
Just then, a very loud voice said: 'KNOCK AND THE DOOR WILL BE OPENED.'AHHHHHHH! screeched Joshua. He jumped right up into the air and ran to the other side of his room. He hid under his bed, quivering and wishing hed clutched hold of his toy superhero which was sat bravely on his bed. Joshua lay trembling, wondering if the voice belonged to a large, slimy alien or a monster with scales and sharp teeth, or a giant spider with hundreds of eyes.
'Dont be afraid' the voice continued.......
