                                Unlike most self-publishing companies, the facilities offered at Abela Publishing can be

                               found in any respectable publishing house.  In most self-publishing companies it is likely

                                you will be offered limited graphics design, basic publishing and printing and usually no

                               promotions package and very unlikely editing facilities.

 

                                At Abela Publishing we do all these for you giving you a much higher quality product,

Abela Publishing uses a four-step publishing model - PROOF > PUBLISH > PRINT > PROMOTE.

 

This model is primarily web-centric i.e. we focus on using the Internet as our prime sales vehicle. This significantly reduces our overheads thereby maximising profits and hence your royalty.

This is not to say we don’t make the book available to large book dealers, shops and chains – we do!

 

We will not disguise the fact that there will be costs to cover the activities outlined below for the publication and promotion of your book. We consider this to be an investment in your product, which will also tells us how serious you are about wanting your book published.

 

It's been hard enough getting your book written. We know from bitter experience that an author couldn't hope to get half of this done by themselves. The big book shops and internet organisations simply don't have the time to deal with individual authors. We know because our founder, John Halsted, has been through this cycle and now wants to make it easier for you.    

 

You've done your bit, now let us do the rest for you.

 

We will register your book on the industry accepted Wholesale databases and with major book chains around the world to enable this. We will also arrange:

 

· Your book’s ISBN and generate the ISBN barcode

· Graphic Design/Cover ART - unless it is provided by you

· Discounted Editing (if required)

· Printing We use two POD printers to supply the big book chains and to process orders from your website.

· A 200 word book review by a professional book reviewer.

· An Interview with you - We will contact you by phone or email and conduct an interview about you and

    your new book. The interview will be part of the author’s website and it is of importance for the press   

    release being taken up in as many places as possible. Usually it is five to ten questions written by our

    experienced and helpful reviewer and sent to you ahead of time so you can prepare.

· Listings on the accepted international publishing databases, bookstores and e-commerce sites:

    o Nielsen Bookdata, Gardeners, Bowkers, Alibris etc. so your book is exposed to the big book chains

       world-wide!

   o Amazon USA, Canada & UK etc. so your book is exposed to the world of book lovers. If your book is in a

       language other than English, we will list it accordingly.

   o Google Books

   o the Abela Publishing online bookstore plus others

· An interesting Press Release created by a professional journalist sent out by three News Agencies to over

    14,000 Magazines, Newspapers, Radio Stations, Google News, WebWire media registrants etc. The press

   release is also sent to a string of websites specializing in articles.

· Promotional Cards – If you don’t already have your artwork done, we will produce ready-made artwork

    for your book and send it to you as an attachment via email, ready for you to use. Print it out yourself on

    any colour printer. Buy special heavier paper anywhere to print promotional cards. The card is a half A4

    size, called A5 or 210 x 145 mm. It will show the cover of your book and part of the review.

· Internet Presence

   o Your own Book Website & Sales Engine

   o Promotions & Advertising – Google & Yahoo search marketing and submissions to other significant

       search engines

   o Marketing – We will run campaigns using Google Adwords etc.

   o Other Sales – listings on the major reputable book selling websites -

   o Over 500 Social Networking sites exist. Most are a waste of time for authors to try and promote

       themselves and their books. We run a focused campaign to get you on the eighteen most appropriate  

       social networking sites.

· Provide a booklet of suggested activities you could do to help improve your sales
